ways to stop global warming
The impact of global warming in
Costa Rica appears to be first making itself
noticeable in the cooler upland slopes of the
Monteverde cloud forest region. Several
species of frogs and toads have been greatly reduced
in numbers or have not been observed for several
years.
At Finca Las Brisas we take the
issue of global warming seriously, and are looking
for ways to stop global warming by how we interact
and manage our 150 acres of pasture and forest
land.
For starters we plan on dealing
with global warming in Costa Rica by taking
immediate action right on our finca. Already in the
first rainy season since we purchased the property,
we have planted close to 600 endemic fruit trees and
hardwoods, and plan on planting many thousands more
in the open pasture areas in the coming years.
This will help reduce the
impact of global warming in Costa Rica by shading
and cooling the land, retaining moisture, reducing
erosion, and most importantly, sequestering CO2.
If you are looking for ways to
stop global warming, perhaps you might be interested
in visiting or becoming a part of our enviro-friendly
community. Or if you can’t make it to Costa Rica,
just get in touch with us and find out how you can
help contribute to the planting of thousands of
native species on our farm and provide worthwhile
and well paying work for local residents in the
surrounding communities.
